And so I'm trying subscription boxes

I feel so out of it. I didn't know about this subscription box craze that's going on. There are so many different kinds...with so many different prices. I mean $60/month for a box of whatever? No thanks. $10/month, however, I can do :) So, my friend P and I decided to each try ipsy.

Do any of you have any experience with this company? Apparently it used to be a company called MyGlam that wasn't so great, but since the name change, things have gotten better. I read some good reviews and watched some interesting YouTube reviews, so I'm excited to see what I receive in my first bag. They have a pretty cool referral/free gift program, so if anyone is interested in ipsy but hasn't yet taken the $10/month plunge and signed up, I'd appreciate it if you use my link ---> here :).

In other news, I am on vacation from work - out for two blissful weeks. I am already freaking out a bit because I know exactly how much I left undone (there is simply just too much work coming through my department for such a limited staff); but I am so excited to not have to go into that depressing environment for 2 whole weeks. I seriously need this - I'm just burnt out. I feel like I used to feel as a kid, on the last day of school before summer vacation. If only this vacation was two months long :)

I took a vacation and came back to a mountain (of paperwork)

Hey everyone...I missed ya :)

Sorry I've been away for a bit, first consumed by work, then on a much needed (albeit too short) vacation with the fam, then again with work. I'm back at work now, and am so happy that I was able to take the week's vacation with my family as my colleague and I were pretty much told that we were going to be so busy this summer that we shouldn't plan to take any time off for the next two or so months. It is going to be a long, hard summer.

Enough of that though. How are all of you doing? My family and I were lucky enough to rent a house in the Poconos for a week. I took a bunch of pics and enjoyed a lot of fresh air. It was a simply wonderful week, and a perfect family trip.

A fun park where we enjoyed mini golf, a driving range, batting cages, laser tag, the arcade, and (the best attraction) go kart racing!

The week was just so wonderful that, yes, it was that much harder to get back into the work groove. I'm still trying actually :)

The two hundredth day...

I miss Lake George...

Santa Claus, Paul Bunyan, and Uncle Sam say hello :)

...well, that's only half true. I miss Lake George, but what I really miss is the feeling I had last Tuesday when I knew that I'd be on vacation (and away from work) for a week.

Tomorrow is my last day off - then it's back to the grind. I cannot even begin to imagine the crap storm of paperwork, voice mails, and e-mails waiting for me. And I won't. Not until 9:30 am on Wednesday, that is.

Why, you ask? Because my man got me a Wii for my B-day (yea!!!), and I have been playing the heck out of that thing :)

Happy Birthday to me! :) This is the lovely (and rather tall) b-day hat that my family got for me :) I love when my birthday falls on the long Columbus Day weekend (when I have Monday off like I do this year, that is).
