The thirty-ninth day...

Sunday, May 3, 2009
Today was a Singin' in the Rain day :)

I absolutely love that movie, and decided to watch it again - for the seemingly 800th time. It's just a perfect movie. It's got romance, comedy, drama, an excellent story and excellent music. I'll admit it, I am a sucker for a good musical - and this is one of the best.

Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynold's are both amazing, but I have to say that my favorite of the singing trio has always been Donald O'Connor's Cosmo Brown :) He was quite a cutie, and him singing Make 'em Laugh never fails to impress. Any other movie musical fans out there?

Enjoy the rest of the night everyone!

I loooooove that movie as well! I bought the VHS a while back, and the soundtrack [kind of silly, I know] but it's so addicting!

I love that soundtrack. I didn't pick it up, but I did pick up a CD of songs from various MGM musicals :)

Maisy

I grew up watching musicals. The ones that stick with me are Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music. But, Singin in the Rain has always been one of my sisters favorites. :)

Maisy, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is my absolute favorite musical ever. I have seen it countless times, and love it more each time :)

Fidgeting Gidget

I LOVE movie musicals! Singin in the Rain is way up there, but I also love Dreamgirls, Rent, Moulin Rouge, Annie, Grease, and Sound of Music. I listened to songs off of the soundtracks of each and every one of those on my roadtrip this weekend! :)

FG, I love Moulin Rouge. I was just listening to that soundtrack a few days ago myself. I also love Grease, but I may be biased because I adore all things Bee Gee. I find myself liking the 1999 TV version of Annie the most because I love Alan Cumming, and could listen to him, Kathy Bates, and Kristin Chenoweth sing "Easy Street" all day.

How was your roadtrip? With all those soundtracks it had to be fun :)

Children of the 90s

I can't believe I almost missed this post...I used to watch this movie constantly as a child! It's one of my favorite movies of all time. the humor totally stands the test of time, too!
